Standard Players Contract

Below is a copy of an original American Football League Players Contract from the league's first season, 1960, for one of its star players, Charlie Hennigan, on its first championship team, the Houston Oilers.
Hennigan, who was to become the first Professional Football player to catch more than 100 passes in a season, held the all-time record for receiving yards, 1,746, which lasted for 34 years.  He still holds the record for
most games (3) in a season with over 200 yards receiving, and most games (11) in a season with over 100 yards receiving.  Hennigan's first contract was for $7,500 and he received a $250 advance.   Click on the individual pages to enlarge.
